Content for a v1.1 update, which includes a rework of status presentation, the addition of objective/party chat, and new NPCs and sidequests, will go into testing next week and should - all being well - be ready for release shortly after.

Your progress in the demo can be carried over to the main game, so if you enjoy the demo and decide to buy the full game, you can continue where you left off. The demo lets you sample the game's opening section and takes about two hours to play through. The demo will be live again for the duration of the event, while the full game will be available with a 20% discount.
